Unity Stoakes
Unity Stoakes is the Co-Founder and President of OrganizedWisdom Health, the first doctor-reviewed search service for health. Unity has been involved in the Web since 1994, and has helped build four successful companies. In 1996, Unity helped launch Middleberg Interactive, one of New York's premier new media communications firms which later sold to EURO RSCG. There he helped launch several Internet pioneers including CDNow, The Street.com, Datek Online, AdOne, Wit Capital and CBS Marketwatch and designed online strategy for Walt Disney World, PaineWebber among several others. Unity joined forces with current business partner Steven Krein in 1997, when he helped build the first online promotions services company, Promotions.com. Unity served as the Chief Marketing Officer of Promotions.com from start-up through a successful IPO on Nasdaq in 1999, overseeing the creation and management of all marketing and investor relations programs. In 2000, Unity became an entrepreneur-in-residence for Stone Investments, a Dallas-based venture investment firm where he helped build and manage The Privacy Council, a technology company focused on data management and privacy issues. Unity has been a leader of the Health 2.0 movement from the beginning and first became involved with the healthcare industry helping companies manage HIPAA compliance. Unity is a frequent speaker and blogger on healthcare, social media and Internet trends. Unity received his bachelor's degrees in Communications and Political Science from Boston University.
