Monte Montgomery, WGAw
Monte Montgomery has over two decades of experience as a writer and consultant in both the entertainment and educational fields. As a seventeen-year member of the WGAw (Writers Guild of America, west, the Hollywood trade guild for authors of movie and television scripts), Monte's work has been produced on stage, screen and television. He has sold scripts to Universal Pictures, Fox Television, USA Network, HBO and the David Geffen Company, and has published a children's stage musical. His comic historical novel for kids, "Hubert Invents the Wheel," was published in October, 2005 by Walker & Company in America and by Bloomsbury UK in England and Europe.
Monte has also frequently worked as a writer, director, and consultant in the public health field. Projects include a kiosk-based informational program available throughout Michigan; a children's CD-ROM about skin cancer prevention; and numerous online and print programs promoting smoking cessation, diet modification, and so on. Recently he wrote "Learning to Live With Asthma," a Freddie Award-winning "health sitcom" produced in Vienna, and has written and directed videos on nutrition (starring Graham Kerr), cholesterol, and most recently, doctor-patient relationships. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and writing partner, Claire.
